i’m baaaaack! no promises for daily posting, but i feel refreshed and ready to get back on the proverbial bento horse.
tomorrow’s lunch was relatively quick and easy — leftover fried rice from m noodle shop, three mozzarella ball bears with almond ears, cheese muzzles, nori noses and eyes, and ketchup cheeks, some steamed broccolini, a steamed carrot flower, a pretty mini-pepper and another israeli vine tomato.
this sturdy and slender box was a holiday gift from my parents, and is still available on bento & co. if you’re in the mood for bento shopping, though, why not head over to ebay and run a search for “bento4japan“? the same box (in turquoise) is among the many lovely items being auctioned to raise funds to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami… if you want to help the cause, bid early and bid often!

Tooo cute! I never thought of using mozzarella balls for bento.. but I love the idea! Awesome alternative to quail eggs!
thanks megg! yeah, sometimes i get sick of quail eggs… i actually got the idea from some of the japanese bento blogs, they were using hanpen (fish cake balls) that looked so similar to me that i thought they *were* mozz balls!
You’re so clever! Mozza bears! I know you were not gone, but I’m glad you’re back. 😛
awww thanks debra. i have to say, even though the events in japan are truly a tragedy, the way this community has pulled together has really inspired me to get back to this healthy and creative hobby. my applause to you and the other ladies who put together the fundraiser (and in doing so helped me get my bento spirit back)!
I love mozza balls! What cuties 🙂
So glad to see you back with bento, and with things settling down in your exciting new life! Appreciate your participation in Bento4Japan as well!
