magazine features

bento zen was recently featured in two foreign magazines!

the first is skoda magazine, a belgian publication advertising the czech car company.  since this article is in french, i can pretty much read it — it’s a general article about bento-making, and how much care japanese moms put into these creations for their kids.

the second publication is super cool.  flow magazine is a netherlands-based crafting and lifestyle magazine, focused in particular on paper crafts.  the magazine is currently only published in dutch, and subscribers get cool bonuses with every hard-copy issue (such as pull-out mini journals and stickers).  the website has some cool downloadable templates for labels and stuff, too!  if any dutch speakers read this site and wouldn’t mind sending me a basic translation of the article, i’d love to know what it says!

Just read the article, it mentions a previous article on bento and does some advertising on a bentoshop. It also introduces bento and the effort people put into it. It also says that you are a lawer who finds harmony during bento making.

Congratulations! This really makes you feel appreciated I guess!

So exciting for bentozen!! Though not surprising to me or anyone else. I love the ones they chose too! True artistic achievement through bento.

Hello there,
Because I read the article in flow magazine, and became curious about the art you put in a box I visited your blog. My english is poor I know but I wanted to leave a comment on your blog. Do you still want a translation of the article in flow? I want to compliment you on the beautifull bentoboxes, it’s not something we dutch mothers do often. In holland the lunchbox is usually filled with bread and cheese.
Greetings from a dutchie Marjan

First of all I send you herewith the translation from the Dutch article:
That is quite a luncheon meal!
We have written about it earlier, about the intruiguing Japanes bento. In fact not more than just a meal in a box. But it is amazing how much care Japanese take to make it.
On the internet there are countless juwels to be found.
As Megan Noh, a New York lawyer. She has a blog and publish there her loviest bentoboxes.
For her preparing a bento-lunceon is “a moment of harmoy in chaotic and very busy workingday.
You can find Megan’s luncheons on bentozen.worspress.com. More about bentos you cna read on justbento.co and if you will make a bento yourself: nice bentoboxes can be bought via www. Roppongi.nl.

I learned about bentoboxes when I was in Japan and they are lovely. I looked with astonishment on you site. Such lovely and attempting bentoboxes. Lovely!!

Aw, this was a very good post. Taking a few minutes and actual
effort to create a top notch article… but what can I say… I
hesitate a whole lot and never manage to get anything done.
